Hello Breon
Here it is,
granny is frantically knitting with a myriad of hallucinogenic
colours and Cliff Richard has been resurrected from wherever it
is they keep him during the summer.
Money and time seem
to evaporate as you desperately send e mails to Amazon trying to
find out what happened to all those presents you ordered
2 weeks ago in an attempt to "beat the rush this year" So
allow us to present a place of calm, a place where everything
makes sense (apart from the monkey thing!), a place ruled by
order and beauty.
Welcome to the REAL DESIGN Studios
festive newsletter...Enjoy

Right Brain VS Left Brain Test Do
you see the dancer turning clockwise or
anti-clockwise?
If clockwise, then you use more of the
right side of the brain and vice versa.
Most of us would
see the dancer turning anti-clockwise though you can try to focus
and change the direction; see if you can do it.
Left Brain Functions Uses
logic, detail oriented, facts rule, words and language, present
and past, math and science, can comprehend, knowing,
acknowledges, order/pattern perception, knows object
name, reality based, forms strategies, practical,
safe.
Right Brain
Functions Uses feeling, "big picture" oriented,
imagination rules, symbols and images, present and
future, philosophy & religion, can "get it" (i.e.
meaning) believes, appreciates, spatial perception,
knows object function, fantasy based, presents possibilities,
impetuous, risk taking.

MacGyver Tip Save your hard drive
in the freezer...
Staying on the theme of computer
hardware in your freezer...we discover that it may be ways to
resuscitate the busted hard drive long enough to get a
backup?
One of the methods I have read about recently is to
actually remove the drive from the PC, place it in the freezer
for a day,
then quickly put it back in the machine and try to
access it. Why does this work? Who knows, but I have read it has
had some
positive results...
The
blogger writes:
"If you are willing to destroy the disk
and try to get some data off the drive, there is a quick hack
available. Place the drive in a static-free bag then place the
drive and static-free bag into a
'ziplock' bag to seal out
moisture. Place this into a freezer turned
to as low as possible
for 24 hours.
After 24 hours, pull the drive out and
immediately put it into a computer (the faster the better) that
boots to a floppy and has another hard drive to transfer data to.
If the drive wasn't damaged too much previously, you should be
able to pull some
data off before the metal of the drive heats up
and starts destroying the data storage platters.
You can
repeat the process only if you shut down almost immediately and
go through the 24 hour freeze process again. Chances are that the
first time attempt will be the only chance to recover data."
Not
Convinced and you do have a damaged drive send it to
the experts - we have a fantastic relationship with ABC Data
Recovery and if you
send them you damage drive they will endeavour to resolve the
problem. Check them out at: http://www.abc-data-recovery.co.uk/ or call them

Email Accounts Take
precautions...
As an internet company which spends every
second online, the internet, email and ftp accesses is critical
to our everyday
business...I recently read a story of a web host
provider that
lost their servers in the massive fires in LA this
year.
They started getting phone calls from clients asking
them why their email accounts weren't working...due to the fires;
their web severs had been taking offline and consequently
their
email had gone too.
This got me thinking; our
hosting provides can guarantee that we will have email, web
hosted 99.9% of the time but there is
always a chance something
could go a miss somewhere. So I
wanted to offer a few options in
case something happens:
1. All our web hosting comes with
an online accesses option, to access it go to http://webmail.yourdomainname.co.uk (or
.com, etc.) - then use your email address (mailbox)
and your password to gain access - just in case you are
away from your office or computer.
2. Open a FREE Hotmail / Yahoo / Gmail
account for your business, try get yourdomainname@yahoo.co.uk or yourdomainname@hotmail.co.uk - this will
keep it inline with your company branding and easier for
people to make the connection.
3. Make sure you copy all your
contacts from your main account to your new FREE online account;
so you can still contact them all in one swift
motion.
4. If your hosting is with us you will have a
Customer Control panel which will let you setup
or configure your own passwords. Go to mcp.livemail.co.uk you will need your username and
password (supplied by us, get in touch to get yours) Then
you can configure your emails.
5. Rotate your passwords!
Change your passwords every so often, keep them fresh and
new!
If you need any help with regards your mail accounts or
your hosting please get in touch on 01482 212200 or send me on

need to elfinize them. Upload a picture to be superimposed onto a
disproportionately small body, add a personalized message and you've
got an electronic singing telegram.
Bonus feature: You
can record a personalized message for the card recipient, creeping
out your friends even more! Here's the REAL team all elf'ed up
and dancing! Click the image to see them!
